The Positive Appearance Center opened its doors in 1994 to address the cosmetic side effects and comfort needs related to cancer treatment. The Center provides an array of products and services to meet the needs of men and women undergoing cancer treatment. The warm, boutique-like décor provides a nurturing environment where cancer patients receive individualized care.
Breast Cancer
The Center carries breast prostheses, mastectomy bras, camisoles, and bathing suits. Cotton bras are also available for use during radiation therapy. There is a certified fitter on staff and there is no charge for fittings or consultations.
Chemotherapy and Radiation
The Center carries wigs and other hair alternatives, including hats, caps, turbans, and scarves, as well as products to help ease discomfort that may be experienced during treatment.
Lymphedema
The Positive Appearance Center carries support garments for lymphedema and is certified to fit patients for such garments.
Delivery of Services
Customers have an initial consultation, followed by the development of a plan of care with instruction for patients to follow-up with a contact as needed. The purchase date of a breast prosthesis is tracked so that patients may be informed when they are eligible for a newer prosthesis or bra. Patients are kept informed of support groups and other available resources.
How to Contact the Positive Appearance Center
