Endocrine Bone Disease
The Saint John's Health Center Endocrine and Bone Disease Program operates under the guidance of endocrinologists Dr. Frederick Singer, a nationally recognized expert on metabolic bone disease, and Dr. Nancy Greep, a noted authority in women's health issues. As endocrinologists, they treat a range of endocrine and bone disorders, and have a special emphasis on the following:
- Osteoporosis
- Abnormal bone metabolism in cancer patients
- Paget's disease of bone
- Hyperparathyroidism
- Thyroid disease
- Menopausal health.
Both doctors see patients in clinical consultation and conduct clinical and translational research in collaboration with the John Wayne Cancer Institute at Saint John's Health Center.
Bone Density Testing
A bone density test can help physicians determine if patients are at risk for a fracture. All patients who undergo a bone mineral density test (BMD) at Saint John's Health Center have their results interpreted by the physicians at the Endocrine and Bone Disease Program. These physicians are also available by appointment to review the results of BMD testing done here or elsewhere on an individual basis.
To make an appointment with one of the physicians at the Endocrine and Bone Disease Program at Saint John's Health Center, call (310) 582-7117.
To schedule a bone density test, ask your doctor to order one and then call (310) 829-8000 to make an appointment.
