Saint John's Caritas Gala
The Irene Dunne Guild, in partnership with the trustees of the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation hosts the annual Caritas Gala, which raises funds in support of programs and services at Saint John’s. The awards of the evening include, the Caritas Award bestowed upon individuals who have made a significant contribution to their community and the Spirit of Saint John’s Award that honors an individual whose service to the Health Center is an example to all of the best in philanthropy and volunteerism. 
Past Caritas Honorees include Patrick Soon-Shiong, M.D. and Michele B. Chan, Warren Beatty and Annette Bening, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, Anthony Hopkins, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and First Lady Maria Shriver, Martin Sheen, Vin Scully, Sister Marie Madeleine, Michael and Gretchen Wayne, Robert Wagner, Angela Lansbury, former First Lady Nancy Reagan, the W.M. Keck Foundation honoring the late Howard B. Keck, and Jimmy Stewart.
Past Spirit of Saint John’s recipients include Marion Jorgensen, Flora Laney Thornton, Glen McDaniel and Dr. Ruben F. Mettler, honored for their extraordinary service and dedication as Trustees of the Saint John’s Health Center Foundation.

Saint John’s is proud to be the beneficiary of the Saint John’s Santa Monica 5000 5k and 10k race taking place on Sunday, October 19, 2008 along the waterfront on Ocean Avenue in the beautiful city of Santa Monica – with a post-event party and Expo at the world famous Santa Monica Pier.
To honor the late Jimmy Stewart, whose relay marathon inspired fitness through running for twenty-five years, the Saint John’s Santa Monica 5000 will feature the Jimmy Stewart 5k Team Challenge. The Jimmy Stewart 5k Team Challenge consists of 3-person running teams where team members start at the same time and the team with lowest cumulative time wins.
With 30,000 patient visits each year, Saint John’s Health Center’s 24-hour Emergency Department provides life saving services to our community each and every day. In addition to providing comprehensive emergency care, the Saint John’s Emergency Department features a Fast Track program for life’s minor bumps and bruises – Faster In, Faster Out!
Saint John’s is rebuilding its entire Health Campus. Your participation in the Saint John’s Santa Monica 5000 will help Saint John’s complete the new Emergency Department – so we can be here for you when you need us most.

Saint John's Golf Classic - Monday, September 15, 2008.
Over the years, the Saint John’s Golf Classic has generated millions of dollars to benefit programs and services at Saint John’s.
This year’s event will be held on Monday, September 15, 2008, at the Wilshire Country Club, a renowned golf course. A reception, auction, fantastic dinner and awards ceremony for all participants to enjoy while supporting a great cause will follow.
