41st Annual Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Anomalies Symposium:
Cleft Team Care: Treating the Total Child

 Saturday November 14, 2009

A child with a cleft is complex.  Our special guest speaker, Lynn Richman, PhD, has discovered neuroimaging and neuropsychological findings in children with clefts.  He has also developed strategies for treating their language and learning differences.

Dianne Mulick-Altuna, MS, CCC-SLP will discuss her extensive experience treating children with velocardiofacial (22 q deletion) syndrome.

Back by popular demand is an expanded speech workshop developed by Julia Hobbs, MA, CCC-SLP and Barbara Moore, MA, CCC-SLP.  This break-out session features practical information and specific therapy techniques to help the busy clinician evaluate and treat children with resonance and other cleft related speech disorders.

Our Cleft Center faculty will present their specialties’ contributions to caring for
“The Total Child.”

The program includes opportunities for discussion and interaction with the faculty.
