Saint John's has designed the patient care rooms in the McAlister Women's Health Center, in honor of Soni and Hobart McAlister, with special touches to create a warm and nurturing atmosphere for expectant moms and dads.
In addition to the 10 standard patient rooms, the fourth floor McAlister Women's Health Center features 12 Birthing Suites in which women can experience labor, delivery and recovery all in one tastefully decorated, fully equipped room. These large rooms replicate an at-home birthing experience, while ensuring access to high quality medical care in a state-of-the-art facility.
The birthing suites are beautifully appointed with wood-like flooring, pastel wall coloring and recessed lighting. A finished headwall covers all of the medical systems, unless needed. A 42-inch flat screen TV monitor is available for watching television and videos, while music can be enjoyed via surround-sound stereo equipment. A large window in each room overlooks green gardens, and the convertible window seat offers a comfortable place for dads and birthing coaches to rest or stay overnight.
