Infant Security Measures
Saint John's takes every possible precaution to ensure infant safety. For maximum security, each newborn is issued an electronic monitoring device. Corresponding, non-monitored identification devices are issued to mothers. Monitoring devices are only deactivated and removed when the infant is released from the hospital.
Health Education
The Flora L. Thornton Women's Health Education Center is located on the fourth level of the Chan Soon-Shiong Center for Life Sciences. The center is an active venue for continuing education on women's health issues, including prenatal care, nutrition, birthing and lactation. Nurses and medical staff use this venue for seminars, training and workshops to improve skills and develop strategies to deliver compassionate patient care. It is named in recognition of the generous support received from the Flora L. Thornton Foundation.
Car Seats Required!
Babies leave Saint John's buckled up as well as bundled up. Moms and dads must have a certified car seat for little ones to make their way to their new home.
